Training Opportunities

Training is a vital component as Murray Ridge staff strive to maintain a high level of expertise and knowledge. Therefore, we maintain an extensive on-going program of training and orientation for both our Agency and the community in the following four areas.

	Professional and Para-professional Orientation and Training Program
		This monthly program is open to all public schools, within Lorain County, to provide specific training for all staff working with special needs populations.

	Upcoming ODMR/DD Approved Training Inservices
		Inservices are provided on a variety of topics to enhance staff knowledge and maintain licensure and certification status. These inservices are conducted throughout the year on weekends and weekday evenings.

	Lorain County Board of MR/DD Sponsored Seminars & Courses
		These are college accredited courses and seminars, held at our Elyria Work Activity Center, that are state mandated to provide a consistent level of consumer care and staff knowledge.

	Lorain County Board of MR/DD - Annual Inservice Day
		Each year, the Murray Ridge Center holds a one day Inservice of training and recognition for all Agency Staff. As plans are finalized for speakers and breakout sessions, information will be posted. Following the Inservice Day, an evaluation report will shared with all staff, as well as, plans for the next Inservice Day.
