Volunteer Services

LCBMR/DD serves county residents out of 20 different locations. Volunteers assist with special activities designed to enrich the lives of children and adults with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities.

One of these locations could be YOUR site to volunteer!

Children Services

Because most Murray Ridge Center client-employees work during the day in our workshops or at competitive employment sites, choices to volunteers are unique:

Assist with adaptive physical education and aquatics classes

Residential Services
Volunteers help to enrich the lives of mentally retarded children and adults living in the agency’s group homes or supervised apartments by:
Chaperoning

Shopping “sprees”
Dinner at a restaurant
Planning and implementing special events
Providing entertainment
Folk singing
Puppet shows
Assisting with Residential Camp activities

The Choraleers (a singing group) needs volunteers who use agency vans to drive them to performances
